Willson House is Closed
Willson House Closed In November, 2020, the Willson House Board of Directors reluctantly reached the decision that we could no longer sustainably operate the Willson House Residential Care Facility. The facility closed its doors on December 31, 2020. On October 1, 2021, the building was sold to a new owner with the resources to renew the facility and return it to the service of the community under the management of Whitewood Gardens. Whitewood Gardens is highly experienced in senior care, they are devoted to those they care for, the families and their staff. The new owners specialize in residents who are in need of significant care related to their activities of daily living. As the new owners, Whitewood Gardens is remodeling all aspects of The Wilson House and adding additional amenities, bringing the community into a new life. Tours will begin in late- January and residents will be able to start moving in mid-February. Please visit our website at www.whitewoodgardens.com . This Notice is provided in accordance with ORS 65.644 (“Notice”). David Karr Memorial Fund (formerly known as “Willson House”), an Oregon public benefit non-profit corporation, is in the process of winding down its operations pursuant to a Plan of Dissolution adopted by its Board of Directors on October 19, 2021. The Plan of Dissolution directs Articles of Dissolution to be filed with the Oregon Secretary of State as part of the winding down process. Any individual or entity with a claim (or claims) against David Karr Memorial Fund should put the claim(s) in writing specifying the name and contact information for the claimant and the basis for each claim, together with copies of any documentation supporting the claim. Claims should be mailed to the attention of Annette Hatley, Board Treasurer of David Karr Memorial Fund, at the following address: 4056 River Rd N Keizer, OR 97303 This Notice to Claimants was first published on October 30, 2021, and will remain active on this website (www.willsonhouse.org) for at least thirty (30) days. Claims against David Karr Memorial Fund will be barred unless a proceeding to enforce the claim is commenced within five (5) years after publication of this Notice. A not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, Willson House Residential Care (Residential Care) and Jason Lee Manor (HUD Section 8 rental assistance program) share a campus on Center Street just west of 17th Street in downtown Salem. The campus is just a quick walk away from Salem Hospital, the Oregon State Capitol, and Willamette University. It is served by the Salem Cherriots bus line, and can be reached easily from Interstate 5 using the Market Street exit (#256). |
